I own a set of HD650s and play them on Woo tubes, so I understand solid cans. I use some 7.1 Razers for gaming, some Senn Momentum on ears for short hops and travel, and grabbed these for listening to the TV. So my goal was really a small target, and I didn't need perfect cans. No, these are not the greatest set, but I didn't pay for, or buy them for that.

These connect pretty well. While they are not exceptionally resolving, they do a good job. Perhaps they could be more detailed, but they easily meet my expectations. They are full, with a solid bottom end. The ear pads could be a bit bigger, and they hold a little tight to your head, but they aren't horrible.

Overall they are a great compromise for my use. I grabbed them to watch TV when others are asleep. There may be better all around cans, but I cannot say because I didn't grab them for that. For the black Friday price, these are really awesome cans. They checked all my boxes, and while I don't praise them as the best in my review, they are really great overall for the money. Hey, they sound better than my kid's old Beats did.

They are very good headphones, although the audio feels a bit poor, not powerful enough. They are soft to wear for hours.

We purchased the Sennheiser RS175 for my hard of hearing father-in-law (FIL) and he's been using it for about the past month. My FIL needs the volume considerably higher than my MIL and wireless headphones are a great way for them to both enjoy watching television together and not bicker over the volume.

Prior to the RS175, my FIL had been using a variety of cheaper wireless headphones including a pair of Sony MDRRF985RK. That headset worked out great but was showing its age and my FIL wanted something similar.

► Setup:
Setting up the RS175 is pretty easy even if you only have basic understanding of electronics. We opted to connect the base station to my in-laws Samsung smart TV using an optical cable. From the televisions optical output to the optical input on the RS175 base. Then, of course, be sure to use the television settings to ensure audio is output through the optical output. On my in-laws Samsung TV the audio can be adjusted to both use the TV speakers and output through the optical output. Lastly, you'll need to connect the base station to power and that's it!

► In the Box:
>>> RS175 headphones
>>> Base station
>>> 2 NiMH rechargeable batteries (one for each earcup)
>>> AC adapter
>>> 3.5mm audio cord
>>> Optical cable
>>> 4x outlet adapters
>>> Quick setup guide and warranty information

► What We Like About the RS175:
I specifically chose the RS175 after looking at various other brands for a few distinct reasons. Chiefly, I wanted something with a base station that holds and charges the headphones. This makes it easy for my FIL to store and charge the headphones without searching for a cable or forgetting to charge them.

Second, the reviews for the audio quality and loudness were spot on. After testing the headphones myself and hearing from my FIL, the audio is exactly what we were after! The RS175 can get plenty loud for him while keeping voices distinct from other ambient sounds. I also like that he can adjust the volume, bass, and surround effect right from the headset without needing to take it off or mess with the base station.

Lastly, I really like that Sennheiser kept the rechargeable batteries end-user replaceable. You just have to pop off each earcup to access the AAA batteries and these could easily be replaced by other rechargeable AAA batteries should they go bad.

►Closing:
I'll update this review should anything change but thus far my FIL is a happy user. Great headset and definitely recommended!

Great sound, great connectivity, quality of the plastic and overall build is superb. Once again Sennheiser proves its known world wide reputation on the market for being one of the best. Can't go wrong with these cost vs. value, very well recommended headphones. One thing can be improved is the cover materials on the ear cushions, could be full leather instead of synhetic semi-lether as today. I bought these for my father, he absolutely loves them. Enjoy

This headphones really deliver quality and i use them with my roland vdrums and it sounds amazing. The down side is they dont come with a 3.5mm to 1/4 converter so i had to buy one separately.

Using the drum module i was able to adjust the pads/cymbals in the correct direction (left, center, right) and the surround sound really makes a difference. Also the bass sounds amazing when using the kick-pad.

I really like my new headphones because before i was using a wired pair and that is really annoying when you are moving around the kit. And there is no lag in the sound that was my main concern when purchasing this headphones.

. Now I can say that this set of headphones is more or less perfect for me. I am also using

rolls MX51S Mini Mix II 2 1/4 & 3 RCA Mixer

to mix audio into the headset. I typically use it to listen to Podcasts while also playing video games (PS4). This set up rocks!!!

Head phones still working great. These are awesome. They sound great. Bass boost is fairly booming. The surround sound function is not great- too echoing, but I don't care about that feature. They felt a little tight the first time I put them on, but they have yet to really fatigue me head/ears. Also I have fairly large ears and the cups fit around them very well.

Finally I was concerned that the 2.4ghz that the headphones use would mess with my wifi. So far so good. No loss us strength/speed.
